It is recognized that a substantial growth in nuclear energy would take place in the Asian region in the coming decades. Close interactions between Asian countries and the leading countries in the western world would be essential to drive the development in Asia, utilizing innovative nuclear technologies to meet the demands of clean energy and sustainability.

During the conclusion of the first international workshop on “Asian Nuclear Prospects 2008” in Japan, it was decided to conduct the next International Conference on Asian Nuclear Prospects in India. Thus “Asian Nuclear Prospects (ANUP 2010) is the second in a series of international conferences designed to foster the growth of nuclear energy in Asia. Apart from the Asian countries, the conference organisers would make efforts to attract active participation from European countries as well as USA, Russia, Canada, and others. Special efforts are also being made to integrate countries with new energy initiatives in Asia, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Egypt, etc.

The meeting would provide young Asian scientists and engineers a forum to interact with and learn from world experts in nuclear technology; this is one of the main objectives of ANUP 2010. Several technical sessions focusing on nuclear energy and technologies with plenary and invited presentations by eminent professionals in the field are planned, in addition to poster sessions and presentation by young authors. The conference is organised in cooperation with IAEA, and support from nuclear societies of other Asian countries.
